New Life has five Vocal Choirs for Children 3 years through Adult, four Handbell Choirs and two Drama Classes for 1st Graders through Adult that meet weekly on Tuesdays. See below for specifics of times and ages for each children's vocal and handbell group. (Adult groups listed seperately.)
4:00-4:45 p.m.
Cherub Choir (3-5yrs)
Focus: Beginning vocal development and pre-reading
activities.
Youth Choir (7th-12th graders)
Focus: 2, 3 & 4-part singing, singing in our
worship service and outside of New Life
Summer tour (certain years).
Beginning Chimes (1st-3rd graders)
Focus: Music reading and beginning ringing techniques with HandChimes.
Joyful Bells (4th-6th graders)
Focus: Music reading and moderate ringing techniques and transition from HandChimes to HandBells.
4:45-5:30 p.m.
Angel Choir (K-1st)
Focus: Beginning music reading and vocal development.
New Life Ringers (7th grade-Adult)
Focus: Moderate to Advanced ringing technique, 'performance' decorum
Drama I (2nd-6th graders)
Focus: Workshop format to develop stage presence and a knowledge of stage directions.
5:30-6:15 p.m.
Children's Choir (2nd-3rd graders)
Focus: Note reading, vocal development, singing in
worship services.
Drama Kids(K5-1st graders)
Focus: Pre-Drama Skills.
Drama II (7th-12th graders)
Focus: Workshop format to develop stage presence and a knowledge of stage directions.
6:15-7:15 p.m. Sanctuary Bells (9th-Adult)
Focus: Advanced technique and repertoire.
