| Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Grace and peace to you through Jesus Christ our Lord. Our peace comes to us through ?the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot(1 Peter 1:19. We collectively find Jesus to be the precious cornerstone of our church. God the Father considered Jesus the eternal Son of God to be so precious that He gave Him to be our Savior and Redeemer that we might not perish but have everlasting life. When we gather for worship, we are not coldly mouthing God?s words but expressing our love to the One we cherish and delight in.
How foolish for people to attempt to add to Christ?s work by their own sacrifice, prayers, or suffering. Praise God that He blesses us through the finished work of Christ and through His intercessory prayers on our behalf. How foolish when we think our prayers add anything to His intercessions. Christ is equal to the Father and prays always in accord with the Father?s wishes and will. Our prayers are for the purpose of gaining the mind and will of our God. We worship a wonderful Savior.
Such worship is what unites us together into a community of ?like-minded precious faith.? May God unite us to worship Him as we begin a new year of service and discipleship and of growing in grace and the knowledge of the Savior.
Faithfully yours in Christ,
Pastor Doug
