Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Central to our faith is the Bible?s teaching on the Trinity. Although the word Trinity is not used in the Bible, the Scriptures teach us that there are three persons who have saved us and are equal in power and glory.
Amazingly, God has enjoyable fellowship within Himself. ?No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.? (John 1:18) Can you imagine the Son resting on the bosom of the Father and communing together? Who does a Unitarian God such as Allah talk to and commune with? But the Bible reveals that the One God enjoys communication between the three persons within the Godhead.
We see that the Son of God speaks to the Father, ?Father glorify Your name.? (John 12:28) The Father responds, ?I have glorified my name and will glorify it again.? (John 12:28) Jesus as the eternal Son of God submits to His Father, ?For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of Him who sent Me.? (John 6:38. So we see that Jesus who say s, ?I and My Father are one.? (John 10:30) is willing only to do the will of the Father. Submission is divine and is not demeaning.
The Bible?s teaching on the Trinity is a pattern for all of our understanding on communication, fellowship, submission and intimacy. Through the work of Christ we enter into the fellowship the Father and Son share together.
This is the unity we share in Christ and as part of His church. Se pray that the Lord will deepen our unity together in our worship and service to Christ.
As we look toward Easter we see that the death and resurrection of Christ is a work of the Trinity. The Son of God died to satisfy Divine justice. The Father gives His Son. The Holy Spirit gives the power for the Son to die and also to rise again. Blessed be the Triune Savior. O Come let us adore Him.
Faithfully yours,
Pastor Doug
