Dear Brothers and Sisters,

May is a very exciting month for us at New Life In Christ Church.  It is a time for us to see how the Lord claims authority over all spheres of life.

The Lord Jesus directs our mission. We prayerfully look forward to Pastor Doug's return from Israel on May 3rd and his report of what the Lord did on this trip during the May 16th evening service.

On Saturday, May 8th we see that God is the Lord of our recreations with the opening of the New Life Baseball League season. We thank God for Wes Horn's leadership and the many new people this ministry puts us in contact with.

May 8th is also the evening for a special "Dinner for Dreamers" hosted by the Senior High Youth Group.  All seniors and grandparents are invited to this dinner as we cross generational gaps and experience the sweetness of Christ-centered fellowship in God's family.

May 9th is Mother's Day where we give thanks for the special place our mothers have played in our lives.

May 14-15 is a special time as we see how the Lord has given creative talents to display His glory through the visual and performing arts. We will be hosting our first ever Festival of the Arts, and we should see the may gifts the Lord has given to us as a church.

As summer approaches, we look forward to open houses, picnics, and continued ministry of the gospel. We give thanks that the Lord has raise up Laurie Burrows to lead Vacation Bible School (VBS) this year, July 12-16. We also give thanks for the many years of Nancy Mangus' leadership. Please let Laurie know of your ability to help with VBS this year.

As our Care Groups and ministries wind down for the year, we gear up for other things. Think about inviting your neighbors and friends to many of the events this summer. It is a time for us to minister God's word to each other, to build new relationships. Are you thinking about your summer as providing new and different opportunities to show the truth of the gospel in what you do? May the Lord open opportunities to tell the truth of Christ through each of our lives.
