  • Women’s Breakfast | Sat., October 8th, 9-10am {Judy Fulks’  Home}
    Celebrate fall on the Belvedere Plantation with us as at our October Women’s Breakfast!  Judy Fulks’ is kindly opening her home for the last women’s breakfast of the year. There will be time for visiting and eating, and  TBA speaker will be sharing some thoughts with us — come and hear what God has put on her heart.  Remember that this is the last opportunitiy in 2016 to join together for our breakfasts.  Don’t miss out!  Prayerfully consider inviting a friend or neighbor as it’s such a wonderful opportunity for outreach!  WMC Contact: Krystal Dowell | adowell8@msn.com
  • WMC Training | Oct. 8, Nov. 12, 10:30-12pm {Room 217}
    Just a friendly reminder for the ladies who have already been nominated and accepted for the 2016 training to mark your calendars.  All training sessions are scheduled for the 2nd Saturday of every month through November.  We look forward to seeing you!

BIBLE STUDIES

    Titus 2 sign-ups in the foyer are over. We are thankful for all of you who have joined a group to study Esther with us this year.  If you would still like to participate, there are still some spots open.  You may contact Gale Puffenberger.  Please remember to purchase your copy of our study book Ruth and Esther by Kathleen B.   • Women’s Bible Study | Tuesday Mornings 9:30-11:30  {Room 217}
     Co-facilitated by Karen Melnick and Heather O’Hara. Grace through the Eyes of Jesus: Interactive Bible Study on Luke by Paul Miller. “Our world is full of talk about grace – but grace is easily misunderstood. This Bible study will help you to explore grace through the lens of Jesus’ interactions and teaching in the gospel of Luke. In these stories, you will discover a richly textured world filled with the beauty of God’s character, and the truth about grace.”
    An 18-week study.  The Bible study portion is done interactively in class, reflection questions are done at home.  Appropriate for someone new to the Bible or one who has known Jesus for years. Invite a friend!  You will need to purchase your own Participant’s Manual (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1941178057?ref=olp_product_details). INVOLVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

  • Pastor Appreciation Month (October) is almost here!
     We would like to show our appreciation for our ministry team by coordinating an online sign-up to bless them for the month of October. Please note that we are only making the names “public” so people can remember the date they signed up for, not for any recognition of the folks signing up. We desire to offer a schedule so that way the ministry team is not overwhelmed on any specific day, but, can enjoy truly each gift. Some ideas are: letters, meals, coupons for babysitting, gift cards, gift basket, off-season getaway at your rental property… Brainstorm and have fun! Make it a family affair or get together with a friend and be creative!   • Parents of Sunday School Children (Nursery Age – H.S.)

  • It’s Child’s Praise | 8-Week Class Begins Sept. 29th
    And Jesus said to them, “Yes. Have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise’?” Matthew21:16(b). This year we will be adding a series of 8-week music classes for little ones.  It’s Child’s Praise is a 25-minute class that features singing, movement, instrument play, music crafts and beginning music reading and ear training.  Classes will be divided 6 months-18 months and 19 months-35 months, ideally.  As the signups come in, the classes may change. Currently, one class will be held Thursdays,10:30-11:00.  Other classes and times may be added as needed. The first class begins September 29 and run consecutive weeks throughNovember 17th.  A new session will be held after the new year. Veronica is trained in Kindermusik® and is using that experience to develop a class that will be a precursor to the arts program here at New Life.  Signups are online on the church website or you can sign up at the ministry table in the foyer August 28th, September 4th & 11th.  Contact: Veronica Allison | vikonicaallison@gmail.com

  • Fredericksburg Pregnancy Center’s WALK for LIFE | Oct. 1st {Kenmore Park}
    Have you signed up for the WALK yet? Only one week left until we WALK for LIFE- Saturday, October 1st at Kenmore Park in Fredericksburg, yet it is not too late to get involved! Visit the WALK display table today to pick up a form or visit FPCWalk4Life.org to set up a webpage or sponsor a walker. If you can’t make it, you can walk on your own and mail in your sponsor sheets.   • Food Pantry {Items can be dropped off in foyer in bin marked Food Pantry}
    The food pantry needs jelly (grape, strawberry, apple)! Would you consider adding a jar to your weekly shopping list? Any brand and size is fine.  Other ongoing needs are: cereal, microwave popcorn, soup, canned vegetables, canned meats (roast beef, tuna, meatballs, sausage, ham), pickles, macaroni & cheese, floss, lotion, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, and face soap.  Contact: Connie Both  bothclan@cox.net

SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

  • Church Kitchen Cleaning
    A clean and organized church kitchen allows for us to continue so many ministry endeavors — care groups, receptions, luncheons, daily use by the church staff and Covenant School, etc.  This once-a-month rotation of 1-3 volunteers allows us to deep clean, maintain, and organize a heavily used church resource so it can continued to be used well.  Sign-up with a friend or get to know someone new by serving together in this way!  You can access the sign-up hereContact: Christine Fulcrod | 540-746-4848 | nlicc@nlicc.org
