“There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven.”
Graduations, weddings and dedications. Parents dealing with health issues. Parents moving into retirement homes. Children moving and starting new jobs. Stresses of work. Stress of considering the when and what- ifs of retirement. Change and uncertainty is all around me. As I listen to the news, I can see there is much change and uncertainty in the world as well.
As I reflect on these current events, I am reminded of how the Lord has protected, guided, and provided for my family over the years. Truly, he has shown us great kindness and mercy. He has walked with me and my family through seasons of triumph and struggles. He has been with us through the times of joy and grief.
In the study of Hebrews this year we were challenged to go deeper, draw closer, and hold tighter. We were asked the questions: “Is Jesus better?” “Is Jesus sufficient for our every need?” “Is it worth it to put our trust in Jesus?” In my life I can say that the answer to these questions is yes. It is my prayer that as each of you consider these questions, so you too would answer yes.

They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
I say to myself, ‘The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.’
The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him”
Beth Hamilton has been a member of NLICC for 18 years and is one of our Titus II leaders. She is married to Larry and is mother to three grown sons: Craig, Jeff and Daniel. In the last ten years she has experienced the changes life brings as her boys have left home and found their own ways as she seeks to care for her mother across the country in Seattle. Craig Is married to Sarah and they have Beth and Larry’s first grandchild, Lydia. Jeff is a Captain in the US Marine Corps. Daniel graduated from Physician’s Assistant school this spring and is engaged to marry Denise in July. Beth works at Gale Middle School in Stafford County as a school nurse and has faithfully taught 7th and 8th grade girl’s Sunday School with Krystal Dowell for several years.

- Invite a friend for this lively teaching on the character qualities of those who have been redeemed by Christ.

Vacation Bible School
VBS planning is coming together but we are in need of an adult to help in crafts (someone who would be willing to do some of the planning work prior to VBS) and some adult teachers. If you are able to help minister the week of VBS (July 22-26) please contact Carrie Verbosky or Kristin Garcia or Sarah Kittredge. Registration info, food donation info, and teen helper sign-ups will be in the foyer by mid-June.
Fredericksburg Pregnancy Center Baby Bottle Campaign
Help change a life!! A little change can go a long way to helping change the life of a pregnant woman or teen choosing life as an alternative to abortion. Continue to collect change in your baby bottles. Please pray for the women who go to the Fredericksburg Pregnancy Center that their hearts would be turned toward the Savior. Please also pray for the staff and volunteers who dedicate their time and resources towards encouraging and ministering to these women. Your change can make a huge difference in the life of a young woman. Haven’t been collecting in a bottle, but have a jar of change on your dresser? Consider cashing it in and writing a check to FPC. Baby bottles and money are due back on Father’s Day, June 16th.
Summer Picnic Help Needed
We need help coordinating food for the Summer Picnic after church July 21st. This would entail letting families know where to place their food items on the buffet tables and monitoring the water and lemonade coolers to keep us all hydrated. The deacons will set up tables and chairs and do any heavy lifting. Let us know if you are willing, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Summer Bible Studies
Summer studies began this week, but it is not too late to join us Tuesday mornings or Thursday evenings. Contact Christine Fulcrod in the office to pick up books or sign up.
