behold, the new has come. “

With the start of April, the signs of spring are all around us. Warming weather, lengthening daylight, sprouting buds, and chirping birds point to the shifting season. These elements of spring remind me of renewed and awakening life. I have always loved the shift from winter to spring. It serves as a powerful reminder that God takes cold and barren places and brings forth flourishing life.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” Sisters, are there areas of your life that seem barren and cold? Do you long for a fresh start, a new beginning? Isaiah 43:18-19 encourages us, “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
Even in the midst of the deserts of life, God brings forth new life. Even in the midst of the wilderness of difficulty or the coldness of suffering, God creates a new way. In what areas of your life are you holding on to the former things, the things that have passed? Sisters, surrender the burden of sin, sadness, and broken dreams at His feet and watch as He makes all things new.
You are not meant to walk in through these seasons of life by yourself! As life becomes busy, we can get caught up in our own winter season. It becomes easy to lose sight of the challenges and difficulties of those around us. I encourage you to take pause and consider those who are in your life. Who could use an encouraging word? Who could use a reminder of the new life that the Lord has promised us? Who can you walk with on this transition from winter to spring? My prayer for each of you is that the Lord would bring women into your life who point to the Lord’s renewing love. It is this love that brings forth new life in beautiful and powerful ways.
