Women’s Update – 5/1/14

Current Announcements:

Celebrating Mothers and Daughters – Women’s Prayer Breakfast – May 10th at 9am
Come join us for breakfast and celebrate the mother/daughter relationship. We’ll hear for Kathi Carlson and Kristin Garcia and pray for the mothers in our lives.  Bring you daughters and mothers or the spiritual mother or daughter in your life. If you can bring something to share SIGN UP HERE.

Women’s Ministry Training – May 10th at 10:30 in Room 219
We’ll be covering Chapters 4 and 5 of Women’s Ministry in the Local Church.  Heather is leading this session, please let her know if you won’t be able to attend and she’ll give you the make-up date(s).

Baby Shower for Breanna Taussig – Thursday, May 15th from 7-8:30pm
Shower Breanna with diapers, wipes and prayers in expectation of the Taussig’s new addition. She says they’re set with baby stuff, but would love the fellowship, prayer and diapers.  They are waiting to see if the new addition will be a boy or girl.   Questions? Contact Heather.

By Design Spring Women’s Sunday School
Pam Lopes will lead us this week as we look at Chapter 4 of By Design by Susan Hunt. If you would like a book (not required) you may purchase one in the office from Christine for $13. We meet in Room 100 at 9am – come join us! Men are meeting in the Fireside Room.

Girls’ Summer Study – Sundays in June and July (except Father’s Day) – begins June 1st

“…our daughters will be like pillars carved to adorn a palace”
Psalm 144:12b

Following up our girls’ study last year we’ll do the same thing – girls rising 6th grade and up will be invited to a woman’s house for lunch after Morning Worship Service and have a lesson from the second book in the Becoming a True Woman series by Susan Hunt.  (for those of you who participated last year, we’ve decided to have just one lesson per Sunday and stretch it over two years – so rich!)  The leader and hostess will coordinate crafts and/or service activities for the afternoon and return the girls to church for Evening Worship Service.  There is a $12 journal book (for this summer and next) that we’ll need to order so please RSVP to Heather by May 25th. Would you be willing to hostess or lead a session? Have a great service idea in mind? Would you like to lead worship songs for a session (thanks, Brooke Lopes for last year!)?   Let Heather know.

Bulletin Folding
Do you have a couple hours on a Friday afternoon you can spare? Sign up HERE to fold bulletins after 1pm some Friday. Takes about 2 hours (faster if you bring a friend!) A great activity to do with older children.  Questions? Ask Pam in the office.

Do you have information you’d like passed to the women of the church, activities or studies you’d like to see? Let us know at wm@nlicc.org.  We’d love to have a devotional piece or story from you to share!
