Vacation Bible School Update – July 21st-25th
Register your child for VBS online HERE.
VBS plans are underway for the week of July 21st. We still need a lot of help though! Our volunteer numbers are way down this year!! We really need a teacher for the 4yr/Kindergarten class. We need help for the 2/3 yr olds and nursery as well. If you can only volunteer for a few days that week we can still use you! Please come talk to us at the table in the foyer on Sunday!! The food donation sign-up and the volunteer sign-up are both on clipboards on the VBS table in the foyer.  There are also invitations available on the table to grab for friends, neighbors, and relatives! The following are needed for crafts: foil cake pans, solid color hand towels, plastic water bottles, empty plastic diaper containers, feathers, and large googly eyes. Please pray for this week that we would be able to reach as many children as possible! We can’t do this without your help!!!! A big thank you to everyone who has volunteered so far!
Carrie and the VBS leaders

KITCHEN UPDATE:
Anne Nelson has offered to help with the upkeep of the kitchen on a weekly basis as her schedule permits.   Thank you Anne!

  • We are planning to use 2 of the cupboards over the counter (where the crock pots are) for food (non-perishable) that’s left over from various functions that anyone can use. It will be our pantry.  So check there before you buy anything.   Wes Horn has kindly consented to move the communion items to the cupboards above the microwave so we can use the space that is easily accessible.
  • We are encouraging people to mark and date items left in the kitchen.  This has already been a great help in keeping on top of food items and discouraging endless, questionable left-overs.  Please help to keep this ongoing.  There is paper, tape, and markers in the right counter drawer under the mixer if you need to mark something. Items that are unmarked or left for a period of time will be disposed of.
  • Because the kitchen can be unbearable when cooking without a fan or exhaust, we have purchased one for kitchen use.  At present it is in Christine’s office.  Please see her if you need it. It is a small fan that can be used on its floor-stand or put on the counter.  Please return it to Christine after use.
  • Anne and I are planning to clean/reorganize the storage room across from the kitchen.  Hopefully we will find more space for kitchen inventory and ministry use.  Let us know if you would like a plastic container for your ministry to keep your food items.  We will endeavor to provide those and have them marked for your ministry if that will help.
  • We hope to have an “all kitchen cleaning day” soon.

Please contact us with your thoughts or questions about the kitchen – Anne Nelson or Christine Fulcrod.

Girls’ Sunday Summer Study is underway…

  • Thank you to those women who have signed up already as lesson leaders and hostesses! We can still use a couple more ladies to step up as leaders on July 20th and 27th.  Sign Up HERE

Bulletin Folding
Summer is a great time to fold bulletins – older children are out of school and can help prepare for the worship service! Do you have a couple hours on a Friday afternoon you can spare? Sign up HERE to fold bulletins after 1pm some Friday. Takes about 2 hours (faster if you bring a friend!) Questions? Ask Pam in the office.
