Most people in the world think they are good people. At least they think that the good things in their lives outweigh the bad. When the Bible speaks about the spiritual fruit of “goodness” in Galatians 5:22-23, it focuses on the performance of actions that benefit others. While kindness is a godly response to an individual near us, goodness is the frame of heart that obeys the commandments of our good God for the benefit of our family, community and the world we live in. Today we will look at an encounter between a “rich young ruler” and the Only Person who truly lived a good life. Through this, we will see what a good life looks like and how we grow in this spiritual quality.
