He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. – Psalm 62:2

Women’s Ministry Committee Corner Update

“God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” 1 Cor. 1:9

When I reflect on the faithfulness of my God and how He has called me by name “into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ,” I am reminded of His great love for me, His child. He knows me inside and out, the good and the not so good, and yet, He has chosen me for His own. He desires to have an intimate relationship with me – to fellowship with me.

So what does this mean for me in my life within the church, within the Body of Christ at NLICC? What are the joys I can experience, the blessings I can gain, the relationships I can enter, the fun I can have (yes, I said fun!), if I allow myself to fellowship with other believers within our local church? I am thinking now of the many opportunities we have as women within the Body, as sisters in Christ, to spend valuable time in fellowship with one another. The possibilities are many and varied, but we sometimes seem to limit ourselves for many reasons, some valid and some not as much. But I want to focus now on a few of the events planned by the WMC and available to all women, young and old, timid and out-going, busy and not so busy – you get the picture!

Last month the WMC organized a Game Night. I was not able to attend, but I set out to investigate the outcome of that evening. To my pleasure after speaking with several women who did attend, I found it was quite a successful evening. There were many in attendance of various ages; some were even guests to our church. There was fun, talking, sharing, eating, laughing, a great game of Bunco, and much, much more. A sweet time of fellowship indeed!

There are other events on the horizon. On Saturday, June 11, the WMC is planning a joint Sewing Ministry Service Project. Please scroll down and see the details of this event – another time for fellowship with our sisters. In July, we have a breakfast at the home of Darlene Tyler, so please consider coming to that. If you view the yearly calendar-at-a-glance, you can see the events for the rest of the year. I encourage you to pick at least one to attend, and perhaps go beyond your comfort zone or what you may feel is your time factor and come out and fellowship with your sisters in building relationships that will last for a lifetime and into eternity. It can also be an opportunity to invite a friend who may not know the Lord and may never have experienced what it means to enjoy the sweet fellowship we have with Him and with one another. God has created us as women to be helpers and life-givers, to be in fellowship with Him and with one another, and “to stir up one another to love and good works.” Hoping to see you soon!

Love in His Name,
Phyllis, for the WMC
