  • Prayer Shower for Expectant Mothers | This Saturday, Sept. 10th, 9-10:15am {Fireside Room}
    We are looking forward to celebrating our expectant mothers & moms of babies born since our last Prayer Shower (Feb. 2016).  Join us for a time of fellowship, breakfast, and prayer!  If you are expecting and would like to be honored, please contact: Krystal Dowell |
  • WMC Training | Sept. 10, Oct. 8, Nov. 12, 10:30-12pm {Room 217}
    Just a friendly reminder for the ladies who have already been nominated and accepted for the 2016 training to mark your calendars.  All training sessions are scheduled for the 2nd Saturday of every month through November.  We look forward to seeing you!


  • Women’s Bible Study | Begins Sept. 13th, 9:30-11:30 Tuesday Mornings {Room 217}
     Co-facilitated by Karen Melnick and Heather O’Hara. Grace through the Eyes of Jesus: Interactive Bible Study on Luke by Paul Miller. “Our world is full of talk about grace – but grace is easily misunderstood. This Bible study will help you to explore grace through the lens of Jesus’ interactions and teaching in the gospel of Luke. In these stories, you will discover a richly textured world filled with the beauty of God’s character, and the truth about grace.”
    An 18-week study.  The Bible study portion is done interactively in class, reflection questions are done at home.  Appropriate for someone new to the Bible or one who has known Jesus for years. Invite a friend!  You will need to purchase your own Participant’s Manual ( No homework is due prior to the first session.  Childcare may be available.   • Titus 2  
    Titus 2 sign-ups in the foyer are over. We are thankful for all of you who have joined a group to study Esther with us this year.  If you would still like to participate, there are still some spots open.  You can sign up on-line  or you may contact Gale Puffenberger.  Please remember to purchase your copy of our study book Ruth and Esther by Kathleen B.     • Youth Group Kick-Off Event 
      The Boths have offered to host a Youth Group/new school year kick-off at their home on Saturday, September 10th starting at 6pm.  We will play games, eat, and watch God is Not Dead 2 outside.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket for watching the movie.  Please RSVP to by Friday 9 September.  If you have any questions, contact: Connie Both or Jay & Brenda Storms |
    • Parents of Sunday School Children (Nursery Age – H.S.)
      Parents, please register your child(ren) for NLICC Sunday School.  This information will facilitate planning, scheduling, purchasing and record-keeping for the benefit of the ministry.  The link is below, as well as on the NLICC website, and it only takes a few minutes to complete.
    • It’s Child’s Praise | 8-Week Class Begins Sept. 29th
      And Jesus said to them, “Yes. Have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise’?” Matthew 21:16(b). This year we will be adding a series of 8-week music classes for little ones.  It’s Child’s Praise is a 25-minute class that features singing, movement, instrument play, music crafts and beginning music reading and ear training.  Classes will be divided 6 months-18 months and 19 months-35 months, ideally.  As the signups come in, the classes may change. Currently, one class will be held Thursdays, 10:30-11:00.  Other classes and times may be added as needed. The first class begins September 29 and run consecutive weeks through November 17th.  A new session will be held after the new year. Veronica is trained in Kindermusik® and is using that experience to develop a class that will be a precursor to the arts program here at New Life.  Signups are online on the church website or you can sign up at the ministry table in the foyer August 28th, September 4th & 11th.  Contact: Veronica Allison | 


  • Supply Hand Lotions
    Would you consider donating a pump bottle of lotion for the NLIC men’s & women’s washrooms?  In the past, lotions have been very useful and much appreciated.  Bottles can be dropped off at the church office.  Contact: Christine Fulcrod | 540-746-4848 |
  • Church Kitchen Cleaning
    A clean and organized church kitchen allows for us to continue so many ministry endeavors — care groups, receptions, luncheons, daily use by the church staff and Covenant School, etc.  This once-a-month rotation of 1-3 volunteers allows us to deep clean, maintain, and organize a heavily used church resource so it can continued to be used well.  Sign-up with a friend or get to know someone new by serving together in this way!  You can access the sign-up hereContact: Christine Fulcrod | 540-746-4848 |
  • Bulletin Folding

  • Food Pantry {Items can be dropped off in foyer in bin marked Food Pantry}
    The food pantry needs jelly (grape, strawberry, apple)! Would you consider adding a jar to your weekly shopping list? Any brand and size is fine.  Other ongoing needs are: cereal, microwave popcorn, soup, canned vegetables, canned meats (roast beef, tuna, meatballs, sausage, ham), pickles, macaroni & cheese, floss, lotion, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, and face soap.  Contact: Connie Both
