Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
In Amos our God promises “I will raise up the tabernacle of David which has fallen down and repair its damages:…” Amos 9:11,12
As Mary Jane and I worshipped today at Ha Derek congregation in Karmiel we experienced something of the fulfillment of this verse as we have seen over the past sixteen years bless this congregation with His presence. On our first trip we worshiped with a handful of people in the apartment of Yossi and Ronit. We have worshipped with them in a number of places. Today some 130 worshipped together. Yossi testified that over ten were new believers. God’s presence was very much evident. We are grateful to have contributed to the growth of this congregation.
Indeed God Himself is builing the tabernacle of David as a witness both to the house of Israel and to the Gentiles “who are called by my name”.
The group from Orangewood Presbyterian Church joined us on Thursday. We have enjoyed getting to know them and their work for the kingdom. Yesterday we got to know them while visiting Peters house in Capernaum and the site where Peter confessed Jesus at Caesarea Philippi. They desire to become partners with the JGP. We look forward to introducing them to many of our brothers and sisters in the land these next few days.
Jim Melnick and Dominic Aquila arrived safely. We look forward tomorrow to celebrate the graduation of the students at Haifa Theological Institute.
Thank you for your prayers. Please know that we are praying for the worship service at New Life tomorrow . We are praying for each of you who are so supportive of this work in the land.
In His joy, Doug and Mary Jane
