Winter 2015 Sunday School Classes

Winter Kingdom Classes
Adult Sunday School at New Life in Christ
(December 2014 – February 2015)

We have some great Sunday school classes starting this week! Come join us and grow in your relationship with Christ.  New classes begin December 7.  Classes meet at 9 AM and are open to all.

Bible: Ecclesiastes (Taught by Parker Page and Skip Tyler) (Fireside Room)

What would life be like without God? Ecclesiastes demonstrates that life viewed merely from a realistic human perspective must result in pessimism. At the same time, after following this mindset through, Ecclesiastes shows us a very simple but important perspective we need in life. There may be no more relevant book in understanding the mind of our current generation and learning how to speak to its emptiness.

Christian Living: Parenting: Shepherding a Child’s Heart (Taught by Jay Storms and Nate Henriksen) (Room 100)

The intent of this class is to learn about how to speak to the heart of your child.  The thing your child does and says flows from the heart.  Luke 6:45 puts it this way, “…out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.”  This class is meant for parents with children of any age and will present perspectives and procedures for shepherding your child’s heart into the paths of life.

Christian Practice:  How to Study the Bible (Taught by Bruce Leaman) (Room 118)

Understanding the Bible isn’t for the few, the gifted, the scholarly. The Bible is accessible. It’s meant to be read and comprehended by everyone from armchair readers to seminary students. A few essential insights into the Bible can clear up a lot of misconceptions and help you grasp the meaning of Scripture and its application to your 21st-century life.   Come and learn what those essential insights are.

Christian Doctrine: Church History (Taught by Chris Garcia and Sean Whitenack) (Room 219)

Have you ever wondered where the canon of Scripture originated and how it came to be? Have you ever thought about the historic confessions we state on Sunday mornings, and where they came from? In Church History we will survey the history of the Christian church from its inception to present, looking at the people and events behind these important questions.

Covenant of Discipleship (Taught by Pastor Doug Kittredge) (Pastor Doug’s Office)

Are you interested in joining New Life in Christ Church?  In this class Pastor Doug will cover the core convictions of the church, our structure as you prepare to make a public profession of your faith.  Begins December 7.
