Women’s Ministry Update – 4/3/14

From Kathryne Marple, Women’s Ministry Chair:

It’s not very often in the history of New Life that a Sunday School quarter has been dedicated to a “women’s only” (and “men’s only”) class. For three months we will hear from a different woman each week as we journey through By Design, by Susan Hunt. I am excited about the Biblical instruction and encouragement we will receive as we celebrate the truths of God’s unique design stamped upon the female gender. That design is not only a blessing to the body of Christ but also to the fallen world in which we live. Hope to see you there this week for the introduction! – Kathryne

Current Announcements:

By Design Spring Women’s Sunday School Class beginning Sunday April 6th

“It is not good for the man to be alone.  I will make a helper suitable for him.” Genesis 2:18

We are excited to have Men’s and Women’s Sunday School classes for the coming Spring quarter.  It will be an opportunity to examine the distinctive plans and purposes of the designs stamped upon men and women at Creation and how they relate to our personal lives and the church.

The Women’s class “By Design [by Susan Hunt] is not about answering feminist arguments or exegeting biblical passages on traditional roles, submission, or headship.  Instead, it is an uplifting and practical introduction to God’s wonderful design for women.  It is a challenge to women everywhere to explore the significance of your distinctiveness and return to your biblical calling.  And it is a plea to the church to equip and mobilize you to help a hurting world and capture a culture for Christ through ministries of mercy and compassion.” (from the back cover)

Books are $10 and available in class or through the office.  Reading is not required, you will still be encouraged and challenged from the discussions in class.  We look forward to seeing you and being together as the women of the church Sunday mornings this spring!
