Women’s Update 02/26/2015

A Note from the WMC Chair, Eileen Roberts

I am humbled and so grateful for the opportunity to serve as chair for the WMC this year and I am honored to be serving with eleven talented and godly women on the committee as helper-leaders.

This Sunday will be the last Sunday to nominate yourself or other covenant members to participate in the Women’s Ministry Training beginning April 2015. Upon completing the training (each 2nd Saturday from April to November), you will have the opportunity to prayerfully consider joining the WM committee starting February 2016. If you decide to join the committee, your name would be submitted to the Session for approval.  If you have a heart to serve Christ in this capacity or know of someone who would be willing to serve, please submit your nominations by this Sunday 2/28. No experience necessary. Just a love to serve our Savior as a covenant member.

If you started the training last year and want to make-up the training you missed, please let us Phyllis DiBella know and you can attend those specific lessons you missed.

I am looking forward to celebrating Mission’s Month in March. There are many opportunities to attend events during the month including the Women’s Missions Brunch on March 14th.  This is such a wonderful time for great food, fellowship and prayer as we hear of God’s work throughout the world.  Having been on several mission trips throughout the years, I also look forward to our missionaries sharing their testimonies throughout the month.

Our “Talents to Treasure” Mini-Conference on April 25th is another opportunity for fun and fellowship with other sisters! Yes, Spring is almost here!!!!

As a Covenant Member for the past 40 years, I am so excited to celebrate God’s faithfulness to the Body of Christ at New Life. There are many opportunities to serve on the 40th Anniversary Committee at this time as well. Let me encourage you to submit a recipe for the NLICC Cookbook. Submissions are due by March 1.

Please remember you don’t have to be on the Women’s Committee to serve the congregation at New Life. As listed above, there are many opportunities.

The theme verse for Mission’s Month is Hebrews 12:1-2. I encourage you ladies as you may be struggling with cabin fever especially with little ones, or alone as a single women or a widow, to focus and set aside our weights and sin that ensnares us and run the race before us looking to Jesus with joy and know that Christ sits at the right hand of the throne of God. I just love picturing Christ sitting at the right hand of God intervening for us as we cry out to Him for our sorrow as He holds every tear in His hand.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me for prayer or any need we can assist you with as a committee. We serve a mighty God who loves us and knew us before we were born!

Love in Christ,
Eileen Roberts for the WMC
