March Women’s Ministry Corner
“One Body, One Ministry”

“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. “ 1 Corinthians 12:12

“Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.” 1 Corinthians 12:27

We, as a women’s ministry of New Life in Christ Church, are beginning our fourth year. God is giving us another opportunity to join together to use our God-given gifts for His honor and glory to “assist the Session in providing fellowship and discipleship opportunities to women that are nurturing and unifying.” Prayerfully joining together as a team, we seek avenues to minister and serve other women in our church community. “Though many, we are one body in Christ” and our mission, centered on and grounded in Him, keeps us focused and gives us direction. As we vary in our personalities, ages, backgrounds, and talents, we gravitate to different ones that God places in our path and on our heart, while our mission and vision remain constant.

Pastor Doug clearly shared in one of his sermons a few weeks ago, “We must know others individually, not just collectively in order to truly serve.” So we prayerfully seek to make it a distinct part of our mission to warmly welcome others, pursue them in their daily walk, enjoy fellowship together, and minister to the significant need present in their lives. Throughout the training sessions, the new trainees have opportunities to meet other women within the church, share their hearts, ask questions, hear the wisdom of others, and realize the specific role of women in the church as designed by their Heavenly Father. Women meeting with women at this level, learn and grow together and come to know one another as the individuals God created them and others to be.

This year as we forge ahead to pursue all that God has planned, we ask you to pray for us in these areas: 1) additional women to take the women’s training and join the committee, 2) encouragement for all women of NLICC in their role as women in the body of Christ, 3) continued growth in Bible studies and other activities of the WMC to meet the varied needs of women, 4) outreach by the WMC to new women who visit the church, 5) outreach to widows with the body of NLICC, and 6) a deeper understanding of the spiritual needs of all women and continued efforts to meet those needs.

All for His Glory,
Phyllis Di Bella, for the WMC
