Women’s Ministry Prayer Goals
This past Saturday, NLICC held our annual Focus Day. Focus Day is a time to reflect on the praises of the past year and prayer goals for the upcoming year. Listed below are the Women’s Ministry Prayer Goals for 2015. Please pray with us that God would be glorified through this ministry.
Women’s Ministry Prayer Goals for 2015
- Improve outreach and ministry to the elderly and shut-ins in our congregation.
- Come alongside deacons to spruce up modulars when residents move out.
- Support an End of Life Issues mini-conference this year.

Meals for the Eden and Michael May family
Eden and Michael are traveling back and forth to his parents in NC as they say goodbye to his father who is closer each day to meeting his Savior face to face. Eden’s Mom and Dad are caring for their 4 children, but can use help with meals. They have no allergies, but the kids aren’t fond of fish. Contact Janet, Eden’s mom, to set up a delivery time.
NLICC Festival of the Arts: February 6 – 7
Excerpt from the church bulletin – “Pray for the Festival of Arts at New Life in Christ Church. Pray that it would be a bold statement about God’s sovereignty over all things, even the arts. This is an excellent opportunity to invite family and friends who may be curious about Christianity and to show the fruit of Christian faith. The Festival of Arts is February 6 – 7. See Jonathan or Veronica Allison to participate. Submission deadline is February 4th.”

A Compilation of a NLICC Cookbook
Please celebrate with us New Life’s 40 years of fellowship together by contributing to a church-wide cookbook! Please consider submitting recipes via e-mail (or typed hard copy) to Amy Auker. (Please include recipe title, ingredients, directions, and yield.) Consider sharing your own family’s beloved recipes or recipes you know your NLICC family already adores. Order a copy of the cookbook during the month of March for an estimated cost of $8. Also, consider purchasing copies for your child(ren) to have when they are grown, or even a daughter-in-law that enjoys cooking. Cookbooks will be available for pick-up at New Life in Christ’s 40th Anniversary Celebration in July. Contact Amy Auker with questions.

There are many destitute children in our community attending public schools. Hugh Mercer Elementary in the City has 19 homeless students and 15 more living in motels with their families. We have an opportunity to provide some basic necessities for them. Toiletries such as toilet paper, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, small toiletry bags, and soap may be donated in the white Loving Our City box in the foyer. Monetary gifts are welcome. If you would like more information or have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also check https://twitter.com/LOCFDX or https://www.facebook.com/LOCFDX to see the most recent needs for these children.
New Life’s 40th Anniversary Celebration is July 11 – 12, 2015
If you are interested in being on the planning committee, please contact Christine Fulcrod. The first meeting was held December 14, so, it is not too late to join. Also, let the office know if you would like to give a brief testimony during a Sunday service between January and July sharing how being a part of New Life has helped you to grow spiritually.
Do you have a heart for missions? The Missions Committee is looking for new members!
The Missions Committee meets once a month on a Thursday evening at 7:00 pm. The committee is starting to plan for our 40th Annual Missions conference in March and is a bit short-handed right now. Please contact the office for more information if you are interested.
Fredericksburg Pregnancy Center (F.P.C.) News
F.P.C. is always looking for volunteers, including Board members. There are all kinds of volunteer projects including consultants, reception help, stuffing envelopes, etc. Board members are required to attend a monthly meeting and don’t need any experience as a board member, just a profession of faith in Christ and a desire to serve mothers and their babies in many areas. If you are interested or would like more information contact Eileen Roberts.
Several Afghan immigrant women are looking for work, especially in the area of housecleaning. None are believers yet, but they are at various places in their journeys toward Christ — and would benefit from more contact with Christians. Other variables are their English language abilities, skills, number of hours, and pay needed, etc. Please contact Debra Smith to learn more.
Do you have a couple hours on a Friday afternoon you can spare? Sign up HERE to fold bulletins after 1 pm some Friday. Takes about 2 hours (faster if you bring a friend!) Questions? Ask Pam in the office.
