October Update from the WMC

Communication:  As the WMC, we will be changing our format of the Women’s Update.   Our desire is that this update would continue to spur on our fellowship together.  We hope to have weekly themes regarding the “devotional” section of our weekly e-mail.  You may contact Tamra Corbeau with questions.

  1. 1st Week of the Month: An update from the Women’s Committee (similar to the Deacon’s Report)
  2. 2nd Week of the Month: A devotional written by a woman in our congregation
  3. 3rd Week of the Month: A “Ministry Spotlight”
  4. 4th Week of the Month will offer a “Question of the Month”.
  5. 5th Week of the Month: Inspiring Quotes.

Events:  Please note that our women’s events are continually updated on the church’s website; you may click here for that church-wide calendar.  We have several events coming up that we would love for you to join us as we enjoy fellowship together — please see “Events” in the Women’s Update for more information.  You may contact Amy Auker with questions.  Below are some photos from recent women’s events.

Our August Prayer Breakfast was a wonderful time to reflect on how we can be praying for our students, teachers, and administrators as we prepared for the new school year.  Thank you to Phyllis Di Bella, Stephanie Middleton, and Sharon Leaman for being willing to share!

We enjoyed our time of S’Mores and fellowship as we prayed for Baby Kittredge and Baby Oberlin…. and, maybe a snake.

If you have a devotional you’d be willing to share, please e-mail wm@nlicc.org.

  • Women’s Banquet | Friday, November 13 at 6 pm {Bravo Cucina Italiana • 1 Town Centre Boulevard}
    Please join us as the WMC hosts a Women’s Banquet on Friday, November 13 at Bravo Cucina Italiana.  This will be an evening of fun, fellowship, and fabulous food for all women (18+) of New Life in Christ.  As seating is limited, reservations will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please register at this link prior to October 4.  Registration is required and is considered “complete” upon receiving your banquet fee of $15 (this one-time fee offsets costs for the WMC regarding your meal, tax, and gratuity).  Please pay through cash or check made payable to NLICC with “Women’s Banquet” written on the memo line.  Kathryne Marple and Amy Auker will be available in the foyer after the worship service on October 4 to receive any payments; please do not turn in any payments to the offering plate.  Please note that your payment is non-refundable, so if you find you are unable to attend, you may pass your reservation on to a friend.  We look forward to this opportunity to have fellowship with one another.  If you have any questions or concerns, please let Amy know.  Contact: Amy Auker
  • October Prayer Breakfast | Saturday, October 10, 9-10 am {Phyllis Di Bella’s Home}
    Our monthly Prayer Breakfast will be hosted at Phyllis’s home.  We pray that it will be a time of sweet fellowship and an opportunity to get to know each other better.  Also, we are delighted to have Julie Whitenack sharing with us in light of Pastor Appreciation Month.  If you are able to bring something to share, please click here.  Contact: Amy Auker
  • Annual Christmas Cookie Exchange | Saturday, December 5 at 9 am {Heather O’Hara’s Home}
    Please save the date for our annual cookie exchange.  We have planned our event for a Saturday morning in hopes that ladies and/or their children would be able to attend.  All you need to bring, if you’d like to participate in the exchange, are Ziploc bags each filled with 3-4 of your favorite (homemade or store-bought!) Christmas cookies/treats.  Bring as many bags as you’d like like to exchange for other bags to take home!  There will also be a decorating table for kids to decorate pre-made sugar cookies.  Coffee, apple cider, tea, and hot cocoa will also be provided.  If you plan to attend, we’d love to know so we can plan accordingly!  Contact Amy Auker.  Contact: Amy Auker

  • Pastor Appreciation Month (October) is here!
    Please join us as we celebrate Pastor Appreciation Month in hopes to be a blessing to our leadership.  Prayerfully consider how you and/or your family could share your appreciation – from a lovely card to an invitation into your home for dinner, etc.  The WMC has created an online sign-up (anonymous this year!) for the purpose of ensuring that each of the leaders might be cared for in this way and, also, that we might not incidentally overwhelm any leader(s) in our desire to extend our appreciation.  Thank you for your thoughtfulness regarding this ministry opportunity!
