Ministry Spotlight: Women’s Breakfast

The Women’s Committee wanted to share more about our Women’s Breakfast that has traditionally met monthly at church.  Each month, women have met for a delicious potluck-style breakfast, fellowship, prayer, and possibly a guest speaker.  The meeting has traditionally been hosted at church and held from 9-10 am.  Since the WMC started 3 years ago, the committee has also generally coordinated of the set-up and such.

Recently, the Women’s Committee has been reflecting upon this ministry and how we can better serve the ladies (and their families) of our congregation.  We wanted to share some coming changes with you!

Our Women’s Breakfast will now be held quarterly (4x a year).  We are making this change in order to not provide a strain on ladies and their families in regards to Saturday morning events.  Another exciting change is that we hope that ladies in our congregation would be willing to open up their homes for these Women’s Breakfasts to be held there.  We would love to deepen our fellowship and the personal nature of these Women’s Breakfasts.

In regards to the breakfast being held quarterly, we  still desire to still provide a monthly opportunity for fellowship — we will still have our two Prayer Showers for Expectant Mothers (traditionally hosted in March and then again in September) and we plan to supplement with a “different” monthly opportunity for fellowship and/or service such as our Women’s Banquet in November and our Cookie Exchange in December.   If you have any suggestions for such once-a-month activities, please contact our current Activities Chair (Amy Auker) or the WMC Chair (Eileen Roberts).

Thank you for support of our Women’s Breakfasts – they truly are a joy as we meet and break bread together.  Here are some photos from our October Prayer Breakfast held at Phyllis Di Bella’s home.
