Titus 1:5-9

Any group that wants to accomplish something of significance requires good leadership. This is equally true for the church (Titus 1:5). If we want to worship God in truth and do good works, we need godly leadership. Without it the wrong example is set forth, people end up trapped in past sins being stuck in unproductive labors, and the work of the church is hampered by the leader’s own toxic behaviors. In our passage this morning, the Apostle Paul describes the spiritual qualifications for church elders. As he does this, he gives a model of character and conviction that should inspire us all. What qualities matter for an elder?
